MEISSEN FIGURE OF A MILITARY OFFICER. Third quarter 19th century through first quarter 20th century. German. Attired in green coat and pants with tricorner hat. Short sword with eagle head pommel at his side and looking through a spy glass on rockwork plinth. Incised “D 65”. Impressed mark “127”. Painted in red “41”. Crossed swords in underglaze blue. SIZE: 7-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: Loss to tail of coat at left of stump. Otherwise very good. 9-24533 (1,000-1,500)
