*RUGER NO. 1 LYMAN COMMEMORATIVE SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. SN 131-32718 and Lyman #L-78-0537. Fine, target/hunting rifle with 28” tapered heavy rnd bbl that has scope blocks at the muzzle and chamber ends of the bbl. The receiver is etch engraved on both sides with round vignettes commemorating the Lyman Sight Company 1878-1978 and titled “Centennial Edition II”. It has very nicely figured American walnut wood with checkered Alex Henry forearm and pistol grip stock with thin red Ruger pad. It is accompanied by its original large walnut casing with green velvet interior containing a 34-1/4” Lyman Century Model scope in target blocks, bearing serial number 78-0537. It also contains a set of loading dies, a bullet mold, a Lyman book, and a brass iron and wood-cleaning rod. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new, appears to be unfired. Retains virtually all of its fine original factory finish to both metal and wood. Mechanics are crisp with brilliant shiny bore. Accessories are equally new with some light wear on the scope body. Box has a spot minor loose lining, otherwise the box is fine. 4-52846 JR724 (1,250-1,750)
