TWO POLITICAL HANDKERCHIEFS. 1) Framed colorful kerchief depicting a half portrait of General Benjamin Harrison with a banner above “Protection to Home Industries”. Six U.S. flags, a spread wing eagle, and two circular vignettes complete the piece. Housed in an antique gesso decorated gilt frame with red, white, and blue mattes. 2) Framed collage of a white kerchief folded with oval portraits of William McKinley and Garret A. Hobart. Below the portraits “Protection” and “Prosperity”, “Sound Money”. Below the handkerchief are two windows with short biographies and photographs of William J. Bryan & Arthur Sewall along with Wm. McKinley & Garret Hobart. Housed in a modern black frame with gray matte. SIZE: Sight: 1) 21-1/2″ x 20-3/4″. 2) 15-1/2″ x 11-1/2″. PROVENANCE: From a coastal New Jersey home.
