GROUP OF THREE CHIPPENDALE CENTENNIAL MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIRS. Late 19th, early 20th century. Comprised of a pair of ball and claw foot side chairs with molded vasiform splats, shell carved crest molded ears joined to trapezoidal seat frame with needlework slip seats, frontal rail shell carved, raised on cabriole frontal legs terminating in ball and claw feet. The third, an English example, with serpentine molded crestrail above molded pierced splat raised on chamfered square legs joined by recessed box stretcher. Fitted with needlepoint slip seat. SIZE: Pair: 41″ h of back. Single: 37-1/2″ h of back. CONDITION: All with old, if not original, surfaces. One missing return on proper right front leg. 7-70203 (300-500)
