FINE SHEET-IRON STAG WEATHERVANE. Circa 1900, New England. The graphic silhouette form of a standing stag on rockwork with copper riveted iron mounting brackets. With remnants of painted and gilded surface. SIZE: 28-1/2″ h x 24-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Antlers attach to head with three rivets, head attached to body at shoulder with multiple rivets, both of which appear to be original in the making. Surfaces showing multiple painted layers over gilding, with minor rusting overall. Generally good. 9-28481 (2,000-3,000)
