TWO FRAMED LETTERS REGARDING FDR AND THE NAVY’S CALL FOR BINOCULARS. Identically housed in modern decorated frames with cutout black matte. 1) Framed typed letter signed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt dated February 19, 1918. The signature is “F D Roosevelt” written in black with a steel tip fountain pen. It is on Navy Department letterhead and signed as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. It is framed with its original envelope and a picture of Roosevelt. 2) Framed typed letter acknowledging receipt of the binoculars and with an enclosed check of $1 (not present). The letter is housed with its original envelope and a print of Roosevelt. SIZE: Sight: 24″ x 12″. PROVENANCE: From a coastal New Jersey home. CONDITION: Very good. 9-24243 (400-800)
