FEDERAL STYLE INLAID MAHOGANY EAGLE CARD TABLE. 19th century, New England. A centennial example or a table made from old elements. The rectangular hinged top with half serpentine ends and elliptic front above the conforming frieze with string inlaid oval panels. Raised on square tapered legs, the front legs headed by oval inlaid eagle patera over fine bellflower inlays within contrasting string inlaid borders over crossbanded cuffs. SIZE: 29″ h x 34″ l x 17-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine coastal Westerly, Rhode Island estate. CONDITION: Table with restorations and embellishments. Slight bow to top, and spliced.
