EXTREMELY RARE ARTILLERY RECRUITING POSTER. The company to be raised was the 5th Company of Heavy Artillery in Boston Harbor. They wanted 140 privates, which they were willing to pay $150 bounty, half when they went into the service and half when they came out. This is the second printing of this poster as the name of the recruiting officer was changed on a strip of paper. CONDITION: Very frail as the paper is old and brittle, with chips around the edge, but no tears or stains. Should frame nicely. 4-56223 FS277 (2,000-3,000)
