UNSIGNED (19th Century) THE VILLAGE BLACKSMITH. Interesting needlework and oil painting scene shows a Blacksmith with his forge in his Blacksmith shop. Three people are seen outside the shop, one sharpening an axe, the other next to a wheelbarrow. Another man stands next to his cow who is drinking from a trough. A white covered wagon with three horses comes around the corner alongside a river with triple arch bridge. In the background a church with cemetery and mountains in distance. The bottom quarter is needlework enhanced which adds a three-dimensional aspect to the figures, well and tree. Housed in its original gilt antique frame with losses and white matte.
