The rectangular hinged lid inlaid with conch shell within an oval patera, the edges with contrasting string inlays opening to a pair of lidded compartments with remnants of silvered paper liners, the box with crossbanding and inlaid abalone escutcheon. SIZE: 3-3/4″h x 8″l x 4-1/4″d. PROVENANCE: Written on lid’s interior: “J.GILSON/68 HIGH ST.BRAMPTON/HUNTS.” CONDITION: Very good overall, professionally repolished. 9-94453 (400-600)
