RARE PIG BUTCHER’S TRADE SIGN. 19th century, American. This nice full body example carved in pine of a whimsical standing pig with pronounced ears and snout, metal button eyes, and forged iron curled tail. Retaining original forged iron hanging brackets. SIZE: Overall: 16″ h x 32″ l. CONDITION: Carving retains remnants of original and early pink and cream paint with old sheet copper and zinc reinforcement plates to proper right side, proper jowl, and rump area. Otherwise with normal and expected surface imperfections and with loss to front of proper left ear. Otherwise good. 9-29025 (1,500-2,000)
