SEMI-ANTIQUE SENNEH SADDLE COVER, WEST PERSIA. Late 19th century. The angular shaped bands with cream centers within the blue floral border to accommodate cantle and pommel, set in a brick red field beneath a polychrome herati “mihrab”, within a cream main border with stylized polychrome flowerheads. SIZE: 3’4″ x 3’1″. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: With wear overall. Losses to fringe and end guard borders. Wear in area of “mihrab”. Otherwise good. Needs cleaning. 9-93568 (1,000-2,000)
