WILLIAM McGREGOR PAXTON (AMERICAN, 1869 – 1941) PORTRAIT OF JAMES L. RICHARDS. Half portrait oil on canvas shows a middle-aged man wearing a gray suit with blue tie and white shirt. Signed lower right “PAXTON”. Housed in this original decorated frame with linen liner. The frame having a gilt wood identifying tag indicating that he was on eh advisory board from July 1932 to December 1947. The back of the frame having a “M.I.T. inventory tag.
