TWO SHERATON SPLIT COLUMN GILT MIRRORS. 2nd quarter 19th century. Both examples of rectangular form. The first with an ebonized and gilt spool-turned border, the corners applied with floral rosettes, the center with a rectangular mirrorplate beneath a fruit-filled cornucopia. The second example with engaged half columns applied with leaftips centering a 2-part mirrorplate, within a foliate surround. SIZE: 1ST: 38″ x 18″. 2ND: 39-1/2″ x 19-3/4″. CONDITION: The first retaining original gilt and ebonized surfaces, some losses to column along base. The second repainted over original gilt surfaces. Both retain original mirrorplate and backboard. 9-99131 (400-600)
