EBONY OR LIGNUM VITAE BILLY CLUB. Third quarter 19th century. The flared cylindrical club with woven grip to which is fastened an adjustable wrist strap. The blunt end weighted with a lead weight inserted within the club. SIZE: 13″ h. PROVENANCE: Formerly on loan to the Hawaii Maritime Museum. CONDITION: Club with nice polished surfaces. The grip worn, the fabric fastener in need of replacement. Weighted end with old expansion cracks. Generally very good. 7-70280 (100-200)
