CHINA TRADE BRASS-BOUND LEATHER CAMPHOR SEAMAN’S CHEST. First quarter 19th century. The rectangular chest with hinged lid covered overall in black leather, the whole with brass strapping and double rows of brass studs, the lid centered with a brass plaque inscribed in script “George B. Prouty/Boston”. The chest ends fitted with brass carrying handles. SIZE: 17″ h. x 37″ l. x 18-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Very nice overall, with original leather and brasses. 9-94475 (700-1,000)
