RARE CARVING OF THE RACEHORSE “CRESCEUS” BY THE RHODE ISLAND CARVER MOISE POTVIN (1876-1948). This outstanding carving shows the horse standing with slightly turned head on carved grass and rock ground. Original metal plaque on edge of molded wood base “Cresceus M. Potvin”. Original paint surfaces and nice coloration. SIZE: 12-1/2″ h x 15″ l x 6-1/4″ d. CONDITION: Small chip to ear, the feet have raised slightly off ground, very minor surface scuff marks.
