SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1866 SECOND ALLIN TRAPDOOR RIFLE. SN NSN. Cal .50-70. 36″ bbl, 3 bbl band variation. Breech block has 1866 date and eagle head mark. Civil War lock with 1864 date, American Eagle stamping “U.S./SPRINGFIELD” marking. Walnut stock with “8876” stamped on the left side of butt. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl is a smooth patina finish. Breech block has faded blue. Lock has traces of case colors blending with patina. Refinished stock with a small repair behind the top tang and normal handling marks. Sound mechanics and a bright shiny bore. 4-40466 DS59 (800-1,200)
