CLASSICAL WIRE BASKET WITH STONE FRUIT. Mid 19th century. The woven rope twist wire basket with everted rim filled with a large collection of polychrome painted stone fruit. Approximately 52 pieces of fruit plus two clusters of grapes. SIZE: h. of basket 5-1/2″ x d. 16″. CONDITION: Basket structurally very good with older painted surfaces. The fruit mostly very good with varying degrees of paint loss due to wear but retaining good color. 9-99853 (2,000-3,000)
