AUGUSTE RODIN (French, 1840-1917) “L’ETERNAL PRINTEMPS”. Outstanding bronze statue of two nude lovers embracing against a naturalistic tree trunk form. Dark greenish/black patina. Signed “Rodin” on right side of the base and on left side “F Barbedienne Fondeur”. Mounted on a polished black marble base. REFERENCE: Christies, New York. November 13th, 1985, lot 250. SIZE: Bronze is 14-1/2″ h. 15-1/2″ h including base. PROVENANCE: We have been told by the consignor that a family member bought this post sale from the above auction. From a South Carolina home.
