EARLY AMERICAN BIRCH WORK TABLE. Second half 18th century, New England. The rectangular replaced pine top projecting above the conforming frieze fitted with three aligned drawers on blocked and turned cylindrical legs joined by an H-form stretcher raised on ball feet. Of mortise and tenon and pegged construction throughout. SIZE: 30″ h x 72″ l x 34″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine and New York private collection. CONDITION: With replaced top as noted, table has been repolished, refinished, and restored currently with nut brown color. 9-29890 (800-1,200)
