RARE GROUP OF PODMOR, WALKER & CO. “TEMPLE” PATTERN DINNERWARE. 2nd/3rd quarter, 19th century, England. This nice partial set in dark blue, each with a scene depicting buildings in the oriental taste amongst trees in a river landscape, an ornate classical urn in the foreground, all within a scrolling, floral border. Each marked with an oval, centering the title “THE TEMPLE”, above a banner in which is marked “P W & CO.” Podmor, ,Walker & Company, active 1825-1862. Consisting of 1)eight 9-3/4″ plates; 2) eight 8-3/4″ plates; 3) eight 7-3/4″ plates; 4) eight 7″ plates; 5) seven 6″ bowls; 6) one 6-1/4″ dia.; 7) eight 3″h x 3-3/4″ dia. faceted cups. (48 pieces). SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: 1) One plate with chips in base rim, otherwise very good, minor surface scratches.
