FINE FEDERAL TRANSITIONAL DROP LEAF SIDE TABLE. First quarter 19th century, New York. The figural mahogany top with molded edges and hinged D-end leaves above the conforming case fitted with an arrangement simulating a bank of three drawers, the opposing side similarly designed. One side with short drawer over one long drawer and the opposing side also with short drawer above long drawer. The case with pendant finials at the corners, joined to a short turned standard with suppressed ball and ring turnings beneath a reeded column raised on four square molded outswept legs headed by acanthus carvings and terminating in brass claw foot capped casters. SIZE: 29-1/2″ h. Top closed: 20-1/2″ w x 20-1/2″ d. Top open: 40″ w x 20″ d. CONDITION: Very good with professionally repolished old surfaces. Casters original. 9-29655 (2,500-3,500)
