NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY WING CHAIR. Late 18th century. The serpentine crest rail above the shaped rectangular back flanked by ogival wings, continuing to outscrolled rolled arms on incurved supports centering the overupholstered trapezoidal seat, raised on molded square frontal legs and backswept rear legs, joined by a recessed box stretcher. SIZE: 48″ h. of back x 29-1/2″ overall w. CONDITION: The frame re-glued, tightened, and reinforced. The front legs pieced two inches, the rear legs pieced three inches, all professionally done. The seat frame with four new corner blocks. 9-94254 (1,000-1,500)
