SHEET METAL FOLK ART WEATHERVANE WITH PLATE. Mid 20th Century. The painted decorated sheet metal and copper weathervane depicting the “BlueNose” Yarmouth-Bar Harbor Ferry. The ship rendered in profile with tubular copper masts. Vane is mounted on a pine block plinth. Vane is accompanied by a transfer decorated English souvenir plate with a decoration of the actual “BlueNose” Yarmouth-Bar Harbor Ferry. SIZE: Vane: 14″ h x 21-1/2″ l. Plate: 10″ dia. CONDITION: Vane with original painted surfaces showing some rust, paint bubbling from exposure to high heat. Plate very good overall. 9-92327 (800-1,200)
