LOT OF 7 SPRINGFIELD ANGULAR SOCKET BAYONETS. Five bayonets are 1861 pattern, all marked U.S. without scabbards. One is bright and clean with light spotting. Two have dark patina. One is missing the lock ring. Two others have their scabbards with frogs and U.S. brass buttons. Both have light patina with scattered fine rust, one has an “S” and an “A” inspector mark. One frog has inspector proofs and Watervliet Arsenal. One bayonet is for the Trapdoor Springfield with blue blade and blued metal scabbard with frog and brass hook hanger. Fine pitting on the blade, heavier on the socket, fine scabbard with moderate pitting. The last item is an 1861 sized fencing bayonet with 16” leather covered blade that has a large knob on the tip. The leather is marked “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1906” with 2 sets of inspector initials. The leather is dry with worn edges and some loose stitching. The metal retains a dark blue patina. 4-50605 JR335 (300-500)
