AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY PARCEL GILT LOOKING GLASS. Second half 18th Century. The rectangular mirror plate with beveled edge within a gilt molded slip and molded surround, the scrolling crest and ears centering a parcel gilt, carved Phoenix with a conforming pendant apron. SIZE: 31″ x 17-1/2″. CONDITION: Right proper upper ear replaced, professional repairs to veneers throughout. Small leaftips replaced. Mirror plate and backboard original, retains fragment of old paper label. Professionally restored. Good overall appearance. 9-94476 (500-1,000)
