JACOBEAN STYLE WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS. 19th century. Comprised of older elements, the rectangular case with molded top fitted with three molded long drawers, each foliate carved, centering putti masks. The pilasters headed by carved figures on a foliate carved bracket base. The case sides with molded recessed panels. The chest of pegged and nailed construction with both rosehead and square cut nails. SIZE: 32-1/2″ h x 33-1/2″ w x 16-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Augusta, Maine estate. CONDITION: Retains old surfaces. Dry with minor old insect damage. Generally sound and structurally good with old restoration. 9-29183 (1,500-2,500)
