CARVED CRAWFISH TRADE SIGN. Late 19th- early 20th century, American. This pine sign depicting a crawfish or lobster, claws extended and with curved under tail. With remnants of pink and red paint. Sign retains original iron mounting straps. SIZE: 25″ h x 56″ l x 4″ d. PROVENANCE: Lobster Shack Restaurant, Point Pleasant, New Jersey. CONDITION: Structurally good and original, with copper plate at mid point behind eye for structural strengthening. 9-28142 (1,800-2,500)
