QUEEN ANNE OAK WELSH DRESSER BASE. Mid 18th century, England. Of quartersawn oak, the rectangular top with molded edge above the conforming case fitted with three aligned drawers all with thumb molded edges above an undulating scalloped frieze raised on cabriole frontal legs with shaped returns on round platform pad feet, the rear legs square. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h x 74″ l x 20-1/4″ overall depth. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine and New York private collection. CONDITION: Case retains old surfaces and original brass oval handles and escutcheons. The back of top with replaced oak strip to fill original plate rack rest. Rear legs pieced. Otherwise very good and original. 9-29889 (2,000-3,000)
