RARE REMINGTON 61 NAVY CONVERSION REVOLVER. Cal. 38 RF. SN 16244. Nickel finish, 7-3/8” oct bbl, cone front sight, 2-pc smooth walnut grips with cartouche. This revolver is marked on cylinder, “PAT. APP’D FOR” and was military inspected & apparently bought as surplus and converted to cartridge by other than Remington. Consignor has seen many 44 cal Remingtons with “PATENT APPLIED FOR” on cylinder that were apparently converted by same gunsmith. This conversion revolver with these markings on cylinder is the only one of its kind consignor has ever seen in 38 cal. CONDITION: Good. Nickeled at time of conversion, most of which remains with some areas of flaking & light surface rust. Grips have normal wear & tear. Bore is lightly pitted. 4-59478 JH89 (1,500-2,500)
