RARE QUEEN ANNE PINE POLYCHROME-PAINTED COURTING MIRROR. 1st quarter 18th century, possibly eastern Massachusetts or Cape Cod. The rectangular mirrorplate within a gilt-decorated slip and molded frame, the pierced crest centering a C-scrolled cartouche mounted with an urn, the whole carved with leaftips and flowerheads (now mostly absent). The pendant apron scrolled and with flowerhead. Overall with traces of original polychrome paint decoration. SIZE: 22-1/2” h. x 11-1/2” w. CONDITION: What remains appears all original, including backboard. No evident repairs or restoration. 9-99620 (200-250)
