19TH CENTURY PICTORAL SAMPLER. Circa 1816, probably Holland and Netherlands. Wrought overall with floral filled urns and flowering trees interspersed with birds and other animals, also with children at play, two figures standing beside a flowering bush and a young woman transporting buckets of water, etc. Wrought at the bottom within the scrolling floral border is “OUD 14 LAREN ANNO 1815”. Mounted in a bird’s eye maple frame. SIZE: 15″ x 15″ sight. PROVENANCE: From a fine Augusta, Maine estate. CONDITION: Generlly good with light toning. 9-29340 (800-1,200)
