FINE CHINA TRADE CAMPHOR INLAID BRASS WRITING BOX. First quarter 19th- century. This fully restored example with a hinged rectangular lid opening to an interior fitted with compartments, pen tray, and double hinged baise-lined writing surface opening to storage wells. The case ends fitted with campaign style inset brass carrying handles. All exposed edges brass inlaid, the lid with central shaped cartouche, the front inlaid with escutcheon all within panels having brass inlaid borders. SIZE: 7-1/2″ h x 17-1/4″ w x 10-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Professionally restored and repolished, retaining original inlays and hardware. Very good overall. 9-20074 (500-800)
