EDMUND LOUYOT (German, 1861-1909) THE WOODLAND POOL. Large oil on canvas scene shows a tranquil stream running through dense woods with sunlight penetrating the deep green foliage. Several trees are leaning over the water which is spotted with pond lilies. Signed lower right “E Louyot”. Housed in a fine modern carved and gilt wide wood frame supporting a gilt wood artist plaque. SIZE: 31-1/2″ x 39″. CONDITION: Relined on replaced stretcher, some inpainting.
