BROWN SALUTE CANNON ON NAVAL CARRIAGE. SN NSN. Cal. 12 Bore. 11″ Brass barrel with top pivoting breech, has lanyard firing mechanism and pull-ring camming extractor. Brass mounted walnut two-wheeled carriage has knurled elevation screw, and lanyard pulley. Walnut axle is brass capped, with lignum vitae wheels. CONDITION: Very good, as found. Brass has browning patina. Carriage retains most of its original varnish, with some added, and splashed onto bbl. Wheels are cracked, and with the exception of one missing axle cap and retaining pin on right side, all brass mountings and an old lanyard string are intact. 4-40964 MGM175 (3,500-5,500)
