RARE 18TH CENTURY SAMPLER. Dated “1704” and wrought by “WANDA CHUINALL” with lines of verse of the 100th Hymn beginning “ALL PEOPLE THAT ON EARTH DO EARTH DO DWELL SING TO THE LORD…” centered by borders of finely wrought floral vinery and floral bouquets. Mounted in a bird’s eye maple frame. SIZE: 25-1/4″ x 8″ sight. PROVENANCE: From a fine Augusta, Maine estate. CONDITION: With deterioration along the edges of the work. General toning notably through the middle and losses to thread through deterioration. The needlework remains mostly intact. 9-29338 (1,200-1,800)
