TIFFANY STUDIOS TURTLEBACK LANTERN SHADE. Large Tiffany Studios lantern shade has a top band of eight turtleback tiles with blue iridescent finish showing strong highlights of purple, gold and green. The lower portion of the body is made up of square geometric panels of nicely mottled amber and shaded yellow glass. The lantern is finished at the bottom with a round turtleback tile with blue iridescence and purple and gold highlights. Turtleback tiles all show green when lit. The top edge of the shade has beaded trim with a section approx. 12″ long being replaced. There are four hooks at the top of the shade for suspension which appear to be later additions and the top bronze ring has several drilled and threaded holes around its circumference. There is no socket assembly present. Unsigned. SIZE: 13″ dia at the widest x 16-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Overall very good with some old solder repairs to bottom turtleback and some surrounding tiles. 5-68101 (10,000-20,000)
