LUCIEN LIEVRE (French, 1878-1936) LA PLACE DES VICTORIES. Large oil on canvas Paris scene shows the famous bronze statue of the horse and rider on large plinth surrounded by a fence and a street roundabout. Multi story buildings surround the square and a recent snow has fallen. Several people are seen, one with wheelbarrow and one woman with a child. A car, bus and horse drawn wagon are in the roundabout. Signed lower right. Housed in a painted wood frame. The back of the canvas having a “Blanchet Paris” canvas stamp. SIZE: 51-1/2″ x 63-3/4″. CONDITION: Three small patches to reverse, some minor spot inpainting, very good. 9-95550 (10,000-15,000)
