JOSEPH (JOHN) ENGLEHART (American, 1867-1915) THE INDIAN ENCAMPMENT. Oil on canvas western scene shows a small pond surrounded by an Indian encampment. A large teepee is seen in foreground and a snow covered mountain in the background. Several campfires are seen. Signed center bottom with parts of the letter obscured. Unframed. Englehart was an itinerant painter in San Francisco and painted mostly in California and the northwest. SIZE: 19-3/4” x 33”. CONDITION: Lined, restored with some inpainting. Fair to good. 9-28451 (1200-1600)
