COLOSSAL 53″ SCALE MODEL TIN BATTLESHIP. Talk about detailing and intricacy, this early ram front battleship has a plethora of gun turrets, ventilators, railings, lifeboats, riggings, etc. Meant to be operational with an electric motor, it was powered in the water with three propellers. Of unknown vintage, but most likely made in the 1920s, primarily out of tin with some wood, and painted in proper colors. Most likely the boat was used in a pond and obviously no other set sail there that day, especially those of German manufacture. At the stern of the ship the name “Liberte” is finely applied suggesting that this was a French battleship. SIZE: 53″ l. CONDITION: Overall is good, in need of re-rigging, partial front mast, and many small and intricate details should be looked after and reworked or fixed. No motor present. Perhaps this ship had been beached at some point as the bottom shows some damage with replacement keel on hull, but the ship still appears to be seaworthy. 1-7246 JL (3,000-6,000)
