FINE SHARPS NEW MODEL 1863 SADDLE RING CARBINE. SN C8271. Cal. 50. Beautiful conversion carbine with 22″ rnd bbl with three lands & grooves, German silver front sight blade and Lawrence Patent ladder rear sight. Lockplate has standard markings with the pellet primer feed system. Mounted with crisp new conversion wood with the crisp cartouche on left side of the butt. Left side of receiver & wrist of the stock are mounted with a sling bar & ring. Top of bbl over chamber area is marked “NEW MODEL 1863”. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains virtually all of its strong arsenal blue with legible lettering. Receiver & lockplate retain about all of their strong orig case colors, bright in sheltered areas, left side fading to gray on raised area. Hammer retains faded case colors. Buttplate retains strong case colors. Buttstock has a grain check on left side at buttplate and a couple of small chips from forearm otherwise wood is sound and retains virtually all of its strong orig oil finish.
