CHARLES KECK (American, 1875-1951) IN “IN MEMORIAM U.S.S. MAINE DESTROYED IN HAVANNAH HARBOR, FEBRUARY 15th 1898”. Bronze plaque commemorating the U.S. Battleship Maine. “In Memoriam U.S.S. Maine Destroyed in Havannah Harbor February 15th 1898” and “This tablet is cast from metal recovered from the U.S.S. Maine”. Stamped “#1162” on the edge. Artist and foundry marks on bottom right of plague, “C. KECK SC. 1913 CAST BY JANO. WILLIAMS INC., N.Y.”. SIZE: 12-3/4″ x 17-1/2″. CONDITION: Old patina with some tarnish, otherwise very good.
