GILT AND CARVED ROCOCCO MARBLE TOP CONSOLE. 19th century or earlier. The carrera marble top with serpentine front and half serpentine sides with molded edges, above the conforming frieze carved in deep relief with scrolling leaf tips and floral sprigs centering a carved shell. Raised on S-scrolled cabriole legs headed by C-scrolled leaf tips. The legs joined by a foliate stretcher surmounted by a figure of cupid with bow and arrow. The whole with bright gilting. SIZE: 36″ h x 41″ w x 17-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: Collection and shop contents of Linda and the late Vito Peri (owners of the Blue Dolphin Antique Shop, Northport, Maine).
