MAURICE DE VLAMINCK (French, 1876-1958) VIEW NEAR VALENCIENNES. Oil on canvas scene shows a landscape on the onset of evening. A connected house with road and field having some water with fence in foreground. Dark to light skies in blues, whites and purples. Signed lower left. Housed in a what may be its original gesso decorated white washed frame. Pencil title on reverse in French which is illegible and a chalk “#247″. SIZE: 18″ x 21-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good with one patch to reverse with corresponding inpainting, light chipping to right edge of the house. 9-95095 (30,000-50,000)
