LOT OF FIVE MOLDS. Two “Colt’s Patent” 44 caliber molds. CONDITION: Both nicked & dinged with brown patina, one with very good cavities and the other has good cavities with light surface rust; two “Colt’s Patent” 36 caliber molds. CONDITION: One cleaned nearly bright with good cavities, the other dark brown patina with light rust, lightly rusted cavities, missing the sprue cutter screw. The fifth item is a quite rare Frankford Arsenal 5-cavity ball mold, 30 caliber bronze gang mold with serial number “1879” and the inspector initials “O.M.L.” It has wooden handles with brass ferrules and an iron sprue cutter. Each handle on the inside is stamped with “84”. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. One cracked handle, appears unused. From the collection of the late Bruce McDowell. 4-54819-1 JR376 (500-800)
