SULTANABAD CARPET. Last quarter 19th century. The deep indigo field within floral-filled, sand-colored spandrels in the form of quarter-medallions, centering a conforming poled arabesque medallion, the deep indigo main border with stylized flowerheads and latticework, flanked by madder red guard borders with olive latticework of stylized flowers. SIZE: 15′ x 10′. CONDITION: Very good overall, evenly worn. Variations of color in field with professional restorations, including some reweaving. 9-93215 (10,000-12,000)
