2 TIN LANTERNS & PUNCHED TIN CHEESE STRAINER. 1st quarter 19th century, probably Pennsylvania. The first, a square candle lantern with three glass panels and sliding door, the top with tapering sides and punched star decoration, the inside fitted for a candle. The second, a miniature lantern of cylindrical form, fitted with a fluid-burning reservoir, the conical pierced-tin top with a smoke bell and fitted with wire ring handle. Together with a heart-shaped pierced-tin footed cheese strainer. SIZE: 1ST: 11-1/2” h. 2ND: 6-3/4” h. Strainer: 3” h. x 6” l. CONDITION: The first with replaced wire handle, otherwise very good. The miniature lantern all original, very good condition. Strainer with solder repairs. 9-99858 (500-600)
