AMERICAN TOLE BISCUIT TIN. First half 20th century. The square tin with conforming hinged lid. The front with a painted panel of a displayed eagle with shield and arrows within a border of scrolling cartouches and vinery, signed “DEAN” beneath the shield, each side panel painted with an image of George Washington on horseback. All on a terra cotta colored ground. The lid stamped “NATIONAL BISCUIT CO.” SIZE: 11-1/2″ h. x 10-1/2″ sq. CONDITION: Tin with solder repairs beneath paint. Otherwise very good. 9-93239 (800-1,200)
