NEW ENGLAND FEDERAL MAHOGANY BOWFRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1810, probably Massachusetts. The rectangular top with bow front, the edge with contrasting X-form string inlays above the conforming case fitted with four graduated cockbeaded drawers, and oval beehive brasses above the shaped and scalloped apron with contrasting stringing, raised on flared French feet. SIZE: 38″ h. x 40-1/2″ overall w. x 21-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Chest retains original cleaned surfaces, with good color and patina. Minor absences in cockbeaded edges and restoration to veneered apron. Feet original with professional restorations. Small repair to proper left rear panel. Single return absent proper right front foot. Otherwise very good. 9-99060 (800-1,200)
